BIO
Dagmawi Abebe (Dag) is an award-winning Ethiopian-born American Writer, Director, and Editor. He pursued a major in Physics and a minor in Film Studies at the University of Virginia, honing his unique blend of analytical thinking and creative vision before getting his Master of Fine Arts in Film and TV Production from the University of Southern California.
He has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Directors Guild of America Student Jury Prize and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Grant. On top of theatrical and streaming platforms such as Hulu, Dag's films have also been celebrated at prestigious film festivals worldwide, including the Tribeca Film Festival, Warsaw International Film Festival, and International Rome Film Fest. With a genuine passion for storytelling, Dag pushes the boundaries of artistic expression, crafting immersive narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.
He's currently based in Los Angeles.
